I have a problem. Every time an AppSumo email lands while I should be doing something else, I click it. Every time.
Last week it was Sigma Media Manager. $39 lifetime for a WordPress media library plugin that promised folders, AI tagging, and cloud offloading. I bought it before I finished reading the page.
My rule. if I can’t build or fix something tangible within two hours, I request a refund. Here’s what happened.
First thing I checked: who built this?
bdthemes. Bangladesh-based, founded 2012, over 260 Trustpilot reviews, and they’ve launched two other successful AppSumo products — Element Pack and Ultimate Store Kit. That’s not a fly-by-night operation. That actually matters when you’re trusting a plugin with your entire media library.
The two-hour test
Installed in two minutes. The UI drops straight into your existing WordPress media library — no separate dashboard, no new menu maze. First thing I did was create a folder structure. Blog Images → By Year → By Month. Drag and drop actually works. Nothing broke.
The AI metadata generation is where it gets interesting. I ran it across about 200 images. It bulk-generated titles, alt text, and captions. Honestly? Hit rate was maybe 80%. Product photos and screenshots — great. Anything abstract or branded — a bit generic. Still saved me an hour of manual tagging I was never going to do anyway.
Cloud offloading to S3 I didn’t test in the two hours — that’s a bigger setup job and I didn’t want to break anything before I understood the tool properly. Worth noting.
The verdict
4 tacos from the AppSumo community, and I’d agree. It does exactly what it says. The folder system works cleanly, the AI tagging is useful-not-magic, and bdthemes’ track record means this plugin will actually get maintained.
Not requesting a refund. $39 lifetime for organised WordPress media is a no-brainer if your library is currently a disaster (mine was).
