I manage content across five channels. Badly. I’ve known this for a while.

So when Postiz landed in my AppSumo feed — 30+ channels, AI scheduling, lifetime deal for $179 — I did what I always do. Bought it. Opened it immediately. Set a two-hour timer.

If I can’t get something working in two hours, I refund. That’s the rule.

First thing I checked: who built this?

Nevo David. Founded Postiz in September 2024 — yes, that’s less than two years ago. Bootstrapped. Based in Tel Aviv. The product is open source on GitHub, which I actually respect — means you can see exactly what you’re getting into.

Young company. Small team. Worth knowing before you commit.

The two-hour test

Setup is clean. Dashboard is intuitive. Connected LinkedIn and Instagram in about ten minutes — Instagram required setting up a Meta developer app which is always slightly annoying, but that’s Meta’s fault, not Postiz’s.

The calendar view is genuinely good. Write once, select your channels, preview how it’ll look on each platform before it goes. That bit works exactly as advertised.

The AI content generation is… fine. It’s not going to replace a copywriter. But for spinning a blog post into five platform-specific hooks? Fast enough to be useful.

Where I hit friction. the analytics dashboard felt thin. And with only 2 reviews on AppSumo right now — one 4-taco, one 3-taco — it’s early days. The 3-taco reviewer specifically noted rough edges in the onboarding. They weren’t wrong.

The verdict

I didn’t refund it. But I’m not calling it solved either. The core scheduling works. The cross-posting works. The AI is serviceable. For $179 lifetime against Hootsuite’s monthly fees — it’s worth the 60-day trial to find out if it fits your workflow.

What I’d watch. the roadmap. A bootstrapped team founded in 2024 can move fast or disappear. Check their GitHub activity before you buy.

This post was written by me, a human, after actual research and real tool-testing. AI helps me with the grunt work. The opinions are still mine.
